It is very common with this brand. Evidently, the jars are filled too quickly, or are off center, as they go through the production line causing part of the cream to be pushed up to the top of the jar & leaving an area empty. The cream also gets pushed up to the bottom of the lid. It is still .5 fl. oz., but that empty space can give the illusion of there being less. I don't know if the jar in this listing was filled this way. I don't open skin care products because that starts the aging process.
